zetec dimensions
Hi
I'm getting a zetec engine in the next week or two, so want to make up a engine stand with the spare steel i have. can anyone tell me the dimensions of the engine mounts on the side (hole spacing & thread size) Also can anyone tell me the spacing between the mounts? (See image) [IMG][/IMG]

Perhaps this will help: http://www.cobratech.nl/FORUM/locost/zetec1.jpg
All the threads on the block are M10. The distance between the mounting surfaces is around 23 cm, hard to measure exactly. But I would wait until I had the engine in the flesh.

Fairly cheap at machine mart and fully adjustable to mount at flywheel end.
Might save loads of hassle. |

my advice having just welded up my zetec mounts - wait until you have the engine before cutting any metal!
I made plywood templates for the zetec mount plates, welded in the chassis mount plates and bolted the steel plates to the zetec. Positioned the engine in the chassis correctly, making sure to get the height right and everything as square as possible. Then cut/tack your mounts together, remove and fully weld. Making the mounts without the engine will only lead to disaster IMO... Josh |
