Front wishbone geometry
Right, I'm still CADing my chassis but have just attached the uprights, wishbones etc. to the chassis.
I get silly camber (over 5 degrees). I can't for the life of me figure out why this is, as I've used book dimensions for everything. Could somebody confirm the following dimensions (in square brackets are what I've got): 1) From chassis pivot axis of lower front wishbone to centre of lower ball joint [414.50mm] 2) From chassis pivot axis of upper front wishbone to centre of upper ball joint [260mm] I'm sure I've got the geometry wrong somewhere, but need to narrow it down. Thanks, Pavel |

On the top wishbone there is a M18x1.5 threaded bush and it has a transit track rod end which is.........?

Sorry, the 260mm is from the wishbone pivot axis (chassis end) to the actual centre of the ball-joint (so takes into account the exposed track rod).

The top ball joint is adjustable by 15mm so will give +/- camber?!

Are you using Sierra uprights?

Yes, sierra uprights.
Talon, I'm well aware of that - hence why I wanted the distances I requested - if my bottom wishbone distance is fine, then it's the upper track rod that just needs to be extended out slightly. I just wanted to confirm what the distance should be so I can set a point to aim for. Thanks for both your responses chaps! |
