Default Rear View Mirror

Is it a requirement to have a center rear view mirror? (just planning ahead)

(sorry I know its lazy, but I did try searching, and the IVA manual makes my head hurt )

Yes I am afraid you do need a rear view mirror.

Needs to be IVA friendly too

Hi, you need at least an offside mirror & a centre mirror, but the reality is that you cannot meet the field of view requirements in a 7 type car with these alone, so you`ll need a nearside mirror too ( you`d want one anyway in reality wouldn`t you! ).

Don`t bother with bike mirrors by the way, you need convex glass in them all otherwise you`ll struggle to meet field of view regs & I don`t think bike mirrors have this.

Dennis.

PS as Bonzo says, make sure they are IVA friendly with regards glass sizes etc.

would a rear view camera and screen fit requirements? I have a wide angle flush mount camera, I think it gives a wider view than a convex mirror....... hmmm maybe best to wait until I get a lot nearer IVA time..... just thinnking aloud..... ignore me....

The main thing to worry about with the field of view is the obstruction of the rear wings for the side mirrors. You need to have them mounted as high as poss so that you can see down over the rear wings to see the inside lines of the field of view markers.
