Default Plate Transfer..

Can anyone give a definate answer to this..

My Mondeo has bit the dust, MOT runs out today and it's going to cost more than I can be botherd to spend on it..

Now it has a private plate on it.

DVLA site says cars have to have tax/MOT to transfer from - To.. Our galaxy is ok. But the Mono is obiously now out of MOT ..

Can I trandfer it, seems a bit stupid to be not able to transfer of a car that's just faild ...

Any one have a real answer ( not just a cut and past from the DVLA ).. Am I stuffed

what you say is correct in that the car with the private plate needs to be MOTed and taxed on the computer system to transfer the plate. DVLA has no leaway it's just one big computer system either it is or it is not.

Rang the DVLA on thursday, they said it's fine. They even said that it was stated on the website?? you have 12 months to get it done from expiry of the MOT.

Cheers
