depends how tall you are

& depends on whether you,ll be fitting a windscreen or an aero screen, that may sound obvious but the couple of cars i,ve been a passenger in i had struggled to see over the aeroscreens (totally darkened screens), so i,ve raised my seat rails by 25mm above the lower chassis rails,
i,m 5ft 8in tall .

yes there are rules for the IVA, but more to do with the position of the seatbelt/harness mounting points(upper ) in relation to the position of the seat & now i believe seats must have some form of head rest area so the old style short back seats wouldn,t pass etc.
As long as the seats are securely fixed i don,t think you,ll have a major prob with the regulations, after all its a safety point that you can see over the scuttle

yeh, i think the rules are the same here in Sweden but i think its ok to use the short back seat. i have the short back seat & will have head rests on the rollbar, should be just fine.

Seat height is a user thing but like said up there somewhere you have to be able to see over the scuttle and aeroscreen(if fitted)...Trick is to sit as low as you can and still see where you are going. Non of this arms out straight malarky either as you will never steer the thing...close like a rally car so you can control the wheel when the back steps out
