RS1,2and 3 to BR12
Hi all, I have welded RS 1,2 and 3 as per the book, when I came to mount onto BR12 my measurement is out by 3.1mm. The drawing on page 43 shows the distance from the rear face of BR12 to the outside of RS3 to be 406.9mm, I get 410mm. RS2 and 3 are exactly to the book measurement. Has anybody had this problem? this 406.9mm dimension looks important as this is where the hangers for the lower wishbone fit. If I put RS 2 and 3 onto the edge of BR12 my measurement is correct, but then there is no room for CP 1 and 2. Am I missing something? any help would be appreciated.

Hi Andy, no problem, I left too much room on the end for the endplates.
All well with the kit, I am busy with the transmission tunnel at the moment, so far so good I will post some pics in my build diary when I download all the pics off the camera. |

I'm working on this bit as well at the moment but I'm a little confused by the top part of the frame. It looks like RS7 & a should go underneath the cross rail on the seat back section but it looks like there will be a small "wedge" of space between RS7 & a and the seat back rail? Is that right or have I messed up an angle somewhere??

You are correct, there is a small void where the end of RS7 & RS7a meet the CP2 plates, this is due to the SB3 part being canted back 17degree,s where as RS7 & RS7a are positioned horizontally, ( hope that makes sense ) Have a look at the lower sketch drawing of Fig 4.15 on page 43, you can see what I mean about the 17 degree angle of SB3 in relation to RS7 & RS7a. cheers andy

Good stuff, I was well worried I'd messed that bit up properly and was going to have to redo it all!
