Sorry what I meant was that I have turned them on my lathe and I was ready to machine the taper. I had realised that the tapers were possibly not the same (Maxi - Transit) and I was just seeking a bit of reassurance that the method that I was planning to use to make the taper was OK in case I spoilt 2hrs work. Sorry for the confusion

Its not fair to post who's mushroom adapters I have and there is no way I will get involved in purile childish arguments, suffice to say that they were made to a spec impeccably and as stated previously not yours Phil and other users have mentioned adjustments have had to be made with regard to taper depth and the reamer used was for the lower ball joint in the hub.

Good building one and all.

Talking A senior moment

Oops, clang, the penny drops. Just prior to starting this thread I had pm’ed jimmyd about some pedal BUSH material that he had kindly given me FOC. Immediately following that I wrote the original question and got my wucking mords fuddled, call it a senior moment. After the reply from Talonmotorsports had answered my question and confirmed that I was on the right lines I failed to re-read my original submission to spot my mistake. So a very big sorry to K4KEV for causing you confusion. Thanks to flyerncle for making it clear to me. By the way flyerncle you might smoke the mushrooms, I come for Shropshire and down here we bake them into cakes then you don’t have to dry them first!
A sincere thanks to all that contributed to the thread, now I’m off to turn the tapers in those “whatchmacallits thingymabobs”. Did I mention that I make my own bushes!

Coolio! T'other end of Wenlock Edge, now that's a good road for trying out your roadster . I'll have to see if I can find an hour or two to pop over, will PM you soon.

Cheers, D.
