Default Got a case of the jerks due to the heat

I went for a long blat yesterday, beautiful day. drove from Penzance to Dartmoor, drove around the lanes for a few hours and drove home.

Really nice day, bit of a problem with the car though. I got what felt like MAJOR clutch judder, or possibly the prop broke a UJ, or the rear axle trying to escape. It made the car almost undriveable at low speeds.

After a thorough investigation, it turned out to be the heat in the engine bay had cooked the clutch cable - once everything cooled down, all was fine.

I have now rerouted the cable and it doesn't seem to have reoccured.

Moral of the story, keep your clutch cable well away from the exhaust manifold!

I bet that had you worried for a moment

Spooky is that, we were only talking about heat build up in the engine bay when we met on Sunday.

Glad it wasn't a major fault

Beautiful day for a long drive though
