Question Ebay Warning !

Gents,

I have noticed an increase in the parts available for the Roadster on E bay. After having a look at some of the parts available they look very similar to parts that where supplied by a company with maybe not of had the best reputation in the past?

Please think, before you purchase, ask around about the supplier. What appears gem may not sparkle once purchased! I nearly got caught out myself this time round.

However, I may be completely wrong about this?

Just make sure you use Paypal and pay with your credit card, that way at least you have a chance of getting your money back...

If in doubt, stick with who is recommend.

Happy Building

How can he charge £34.50 for an M18 bolt badly welded onto a bit of tube....

I've dealt with GTS (off Ebay) in the past. But his reputation concerned me. I felt that at least with Ebay I'm protected. I paid my money and had the parts on my door in 5 working days. But you get what you pay for. Its cheap for a reason. Now that may not bother you, after all the book is called "Sports car on a BUDGET".

This exact thing was discussed recently.

Both here - http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2765

and on LB - http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/view...php?tid=122018

Obviously GTS have a sh1te reputation - probably well deserved.

But, the service I got was fine.

I only found out it was GTS when my parcel arrived and theirs was the return address.

'Maybe' he has finally sorted himself out, although I believe he still owes a few people money over on LB

A small warning, I bought some laser cut diff brackets from ebay to later find that they were not exactly to book spec being 5mm wider on the faces that bolt to chassis. I should of measured but welded them as described in book then found mounting holes were too far apart!
Had to weld up holes and drill again.

What worries me some what about this whole trying to get away from his bad rep , is that he offers a chassis and a 'delux starter kit' for the Haynes Roadster but has to use MY ebay pics on his web site so he has a pic of a product that he should already have.

Ahhhh, so that is what the messages here and on LB were about.

That is naughty - happened to me, but it was an identical listing from some scam merchant in China

They're down to £26 now, , but i've never seen anything so shoddy Tatey. He should of at least cut off the bolt head and welded it on properly..

Default Paypal

If using paypal, and the deal goes sour, you must contact paypal with 40 days from purchase. After that, they send polite letter explaining exclusions including time limit.
