Default 1.6 MX5 Engine with Shortened Loom, ECU and Letter from Mazda

Hi,

I'm thinking of selling my old engine. It's a 1.6 mx5 1995 year engine.

Good points.

1. It comes with a letter from Mazda stating it's year of manufacture which means you won't have to suffer a CAT test come IVA time. (Costs £35)

2. All the hard work on the loom has been done it will just need a few repairs and integrating into your lighting, fuel pump pedals and instrument cluster, I can provide wiring diagrams and help where needed.

3. It works well and throws no error codes.

4. It's the long nose crank version which is supposed to be stronger than the earlier engines

Bad points.

1. The clutch is on the limit but isn't slipping yet.
2. Someones made a bad attempt at painting the cam cover and manifold matt black.
3. Occasion noisey tappet if it hasn't been fired up for a month. It goes after getting warm.
4. Alternator is weak.
5. You would need to come and collect it from Southport in the NorthWest of England.
6. It's the 90bhp version

I'd prefer it to go to somebody here just because I feel it would be fairly useful to someone but if there's no interest I'd sell it on ebay as parts which would probably be more profitable but slightly more hassle.

I'm asking for £140

Cheers

Chris

If there's no takers then I'll start splitting it. Cheers Chris

Perhaps try it on Locost first Chris. I would have found it a good buy a little while ago so that I could avoid having a CAT but I'm a little too far gone now. I am sure someone will be in a similar position there
Ian
