Default New Build

Hi all. Thought I had better create a post and let you all know about another new build!

Have got my build table 99% completed, just need to get the lines drawn on.

I have my chassis on order: a flat pack from Handy Andy. Thank you for all the help Andy

If anyone is considering ordering one of these from Andy, do so with confidence, very helpful, patient and will answer any queries you have promptly.

Can't wait for everything to arrive, so I can get cracking.

Now only need to source a donor............

Cheers

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

you,re too kind , blushes
i,d like to wish you the very best with your Roadster build, a donor will turn up, usually when you,re not looking for one

suggest a little tip for marking out your build table....... leave a 25mm space at the nose end, this is so when you fit the front frame you can clamp it to the table to aid tack welding it into position .....but make sure the end of the table is "true & square".

your flat pack kit will be with you soon, hmmmmm i wonder if you,ll have it built by christmas day???

all the best

andy

Ryan,

Good luck with your build, there is loads of great information on this forum, here’s my two penith.

When I marked out my table I had no steel so decided to take my time with the marking out!!

3 attempts it took me, it is a good eye opener into how accurate you need to be. It is a shame you are not closer I have a 2m plasterers feather I used as a straight edge that is surplus to requirements now.

Have fun.

Cheers Ginge.

I took the cheats way out with the build table and managed to get hold of HandyAndy's. Complete with pre drawn lines, welding splatter and lots of coffee stains . You'll soon be getting annoyed with having to decide upon what colour you want the car to be, i started my build in June and i am yet to decide

I am seriously thinking about powder coating after getting eyes on Ash’s roll bar. There is a place 10 mins from me I might pop down and get a quote, that doesn’t cost anything!

Cheers guys, I'm a little nervous about doing the lines if im honest! I know it has to be spot on so I'm taking my time (or putting it off!) I think thats a job that I will have to delegate to my co-builder!

As for painting the chassis there is a powder coating company down the road. I might pay them a visit for a quote when the time comes.

Any more hints or tips then for getting the lines drawn on?

Cheers

Ryan.
