![]() anyone know if there are any reasons why a hole cant be drilled all the way through in the cross tube on the roll bar and the threaded tubes welded into them doing away with thoes flat plates?
i think it would be neater and have less edges. |

![]() Hi Baz
I think that is the way most folk prefer to do them ![]() That is certainly the way I am doing mine & I believe Ash done the same ![]() Truth be known, I expect most IVA inspectors would prefer to see them done that way.

![]() This is what I did (this drawing was for the benefit of Mr SVA).
Sorry it's a bit small - this forum wouldn't allow me to put anything bigger up... ![]() |

![]() The threaded tube must be welded on both sides of the bar to pass iva.
I did mine as per the book but cut the cross bar out as I felt it was too thin, I bought some new bush tubes off Ronnie and will put them through the bar when the time comes. |

![]() Here you go Baz
20mm Blacksmith Drill bit Blacksmiths drill bits are available in a range of larger sizes, have a reduced shank & are well suited to use in a hand drill ![]() Just remember to choose a slow drill speed ![]()
