Default Finished car

Hi all,

Passed the IVA test on Wednesday after 6 years and 10 months of building!

Some pictures of the car for anyone interested...

Pre IVA track day at Castle Combe

Working through the DVLA paperwork now so fingers crossed it won't be long until it's on the road!

These photos don't seem to be working for me annoyingly. Here's the link for my flickr account with three recent photos and some from a very long time ago!

Yes, had to juggle school and then uni with building it. But, as you say, they're never finished.

New seats are in, next up is an aeroscreen and then probably a duratec conversion and change the rear suspension so I can run 13" wheels.

Well done Ben. It's never finished as you say. Nice colour but I am biased.

Looks great - really well presented I think.

Perhaps a stupid question - why are the harnesses routed round the outside of the seat - like they are in the picture? (I know they are like that in The Book too). I can't get my head round why that makes it IVA ok...?

It's to do with whether the harnesses touch the edges of the harness slots when you're seated and buckled up. If they do, I believe that it makes the seat a structural part of the seatbelt, because of they way the forces will act if in an accident. As such, you need much more support for mounting the seats, I believe.

If you route them around, you avoid this problem.

However, I changed the seats for the IVA and did have the belts through the harness slots. They don't touch the edges on the new seats. IVA man didn't question any it so either I was right, or he didn't care!

V5 arrived today while I was out! Age related plate too.

Will have some plates made up tomorrow morning and then time for its first drive on the roads.
