Mushrooms again... sorry

Hi guys,
Just wanting to clear up the position of the offset mushrooms as I have done a bit of searching and have found posts that seem to contradict themselves.

Do the offset holes go to the front or back? I have mine to the front at the moment and the longer arm of the top wishbone to the front also. Everything seems to sit right but when I move the hub upwards it seems to steer itself inwards... unless it's just my eyes playing tricks on me?

Also when I have fitted everything the adjusters are wound right the way in to get the hub to sit vertical. Does this sound right?
