Default Sierra calipers and discs

Looking around for calipers and discs because the ones on the donor were shot. I'll probably get new discs as they're normally quite cheap and I'm just going to use Sierra calipers for now rather than expensive aftermarket ones.
What I want to know is which calipers? Are the uprights the same for all models? Would I get more braking power if I went for ones with a larger bore .

Why can I buy vented disc calipers for the 1.6 when the book says they only had solid discs?

260MM Vented is probably the most common configuration you will find these days.

260MM Calipers are bigger with Bigger bore, and there are two types of mounting bracket onr for RWD and one for 4x4.

Cheers Rob. The book says 240mm up to 2.0L. Theres some on the bay from a 1.6 with 54mm bore. Might put a bid on them.

ABS cars generaly have 260's as did any V6 .

Later 2.0's seem to have 260's but it's not always true!

Gaz....

If you get stuck I have a spare set of front calipers , they accept 240mm vented discs.
They came off my donor & are working ok, tho I,d suggest 2 new bleed nipples .
They are spare as I managed to source a brand new pair ....nice n shiney

cheers
andy

Thanks for the offer Andy. Plenty of time for me to find some as the car isn't progressing much at the moment.
