Default no power to starter?

Hey guys,

Just been out to turn over the engine in the roadster (1.8 cvh) and when I turn key to start......nothing. I dont seem to be getting power to the small starter motor wire.

Have run wire from start position on ignition key and small starter wire and it turns over perfectly. All I seem to have been able to work out is the the black/blue striped wire goes into the back of a small red relay (xii from memory) then back out. I have power going in on blue/black and also yellow/black but not out, if I pop the cover off the relay and manually click it together it turns over. If I put the red relay in the holder for they yellow one (fan switch I think) it clicks so presumably the relay is ok???

Just looking for some pointers as to where to start or if there is something stupid that I am missing?

Cheers in advance

Russ

Is this the original loom ad is it a >90 Donor.

If so then find the 16 pin ( 2 row of 8 ) multiplug near the drivers footwell ( plugs into a box about 3" x 2" and find and join the two black and yellow wires to pin 16 & 8 .

Yeah, it's an original loom, '92 sierra.

Have had it all running for about a year now and only now has decided not to start which is what is confusing me.....

Check pin 85 of relay XII goes to earth if not check the earth at the column and then at the 8 pin multiplug near the battery. Brown and White connects to brown at this point.

Check the security of the 8 pin plug near the battery.

Bingo! That plug had somehow come unconnected. Would that have affected anything else? Just noticed that there are more wires going in that coming out?

Some are not used..

If you reference the info on my website for

http://www.claytune.org.uk/index.php...layout=default

"Wiring in a 24V BOA in a sierra" it will list in the spreadsheet C2053 which is the 8 pin connector and it's functions.
