Im a masive VAG fan at heart, would love to see this made to work in a roadster. The 20vt can produce some staggering figures if tuned well. A bit pointless in such a light car but a strong engine.
Im sure Iv got a spare T1 bug lump lying around though if thats any good to ya

HI there,
Practical Performance Car did a conversion to a Westfield with a VW 1.8 TDI engine last year, cannot remember what gearbox they used but if you get mag and email them you should be able to find out.

I think this is the Westfield you talking about:
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=247471

Gearbox is a Toyota Supra W58. He used kit from Acme Adapters.

But - there is a light in the tunnel - VW Amarok 4x2 is RWD and is powered by 2.0TDI, so the 6-speed gearbox should be fine for all 1.8T/1.9TDI engines unless it has some stupid electronics or something...
Does anyone know exactly what gearbox is in new VW Amarok and whether it will fit to 1.8T engines ?
