Smile N.e.w.

Hi there, I did put up a post yesterday but during the server change over it seems to have been lost. To those that answered yesterday many thanks. Rather than draw it out again the mains stay of my question was how difficult is it to convert a 1.8 eco-tech to rear wheel drive as I have a Vectra sitting in my drive.

Many thanks
Arfon

Hmmmm. Not sure. I know PPC (I think) had an article about converting a 2L Ecotech to RWD and they reckon it was great. I'll try to dig it out and see what it says. Not sure if the 1.8 and 2.0 share the same bellhousing pattern though. I would expect they do.

Edit: Seems you can either use an old manta gearbox, or a Vauxhall to Ford bellhousing (£200 ish) and use a type 9 gearbox.

You can run it, but you can't get it through IVA test like that. The engine is too new and would require injection and a CAT to pass the IVA emissions test.

Welcome back again .

Do what most do, build with an old sierra engine, then upgrade after Mr Vosa has said YES.

Thanks think I will be selling the Vectra on and buying a Sierra as a donor. Had better buy a box of tissues for when the old girl goes, we have done a lot of miles together over the past 10 years
