Default Build diary updated again

Hi folks, just in case any one gives a monkey's I have updated my build diary at www.deepfolly.co.uk. I have added some up to date photos and done a bit on electrolysis in my handy hints and tips section.
Enjoy.
Dave.
PS there is some disgusting language in there that's how I talk so that's how I write. If you don't like it please don't go there

Nice update Dave
The underpants & derusting bucket comment made me laugh
Chassis is looking nice

Tho may i make an observation........ the headlamp stalks/brackets look a little long, it might be an optical illusion tho, if they are that length you might find the front cycle wings make contact with the headlamps when steering is on full lock.........then again it depends which headlights you intend to fit

shut up Handy.....lol

Nice work Dave.

cheers
andy

As usual, a briliant & very entertaining read Dave

Boy .... You are cracking on with that build .... I can see that I am going to have to work night shifts just to keep ahead of you

I was reading the bit about rust removal .... Came to the heath & safety warning .... What no smoking at all !!?? .... where's the fun in that

Ohhh & don't you just hate weld splatter in your hole

Hi Folks, glad you are enjoying my inane ramblings
Andy, I made the stalks the same length as yours - remember the conversation?
Bonzo, smoking is fine with me, I used to smoke 30 a day but gave up 7 years ago. Still think people should be allowed the choice but that's another conversation......
I think progress will be held up with money rather than anything else, I am doing it on a budget and will have to save my pennies for some big stuff later eg nose cone, scuttle etc.
Best and all that,
Dave

Now you mention it, yes I do remember the conversation now....
But i,m sure my mind is slowly being pickled today ( been a long day ), so what measurement have you made them?
My car isn,t at home so can,t remember the measurement.

Keep up the witty banter on your build log, always enjoy the read

cheers
andy

90mm to centre of the headlamp mount. I think you said yours were 94mm.
At least I hope you did, I am very proud of them and don't want to have to take the angry grinder to them

Cool diary, a nice read.

I think you're overestimating the risk of hydrogen explosion. It is only flammable in concentrations of more than 4%. If you don't cover the electrolyzer with anything I'm pretty certain the minute quantities of hydrogen produced will mix with the air. If there's even minimal ventilation hidrogen will never have a chance to reach a dangerous concentration.

Apparently running 10 Amps for an hour produces 0.38 grams, or 4 litres of hydrogen:
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i...%27s+number%29
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=0.186+mol+of+H2
The energy density of H2 as fuel is 3 times that of petrol.

Hi Alga, you are quite correct but we live in such a litigious society that you have to put in disclaimers or risk getting sued. It's like MacDonalds having to warn that coffee and hot apple pies might be hot All it takes is one oaf that decides that rather than working for a living they would try out electrolysis in a very small shed while smoking a pipe, blow themselves up and then sue me for everything I have. Hence the warning
Best and all that,
Dave
