Default Tyre Size

My wheels came with 2 205/50/15 tyres and 2 bald 195/50/15s

I don't really want to buy a full set of 195s as the 2 205s have plenty of tread. I'm going to put the 205s on the back and buy some new front ones.

What size should i go for? 205s all round or 195s on the front and eventually 195s all round when the backs are worn?

Best bit so far: Getting it running
Worst bit so far: Cutting steel for wishbones and engine mounts.
Most annoying bit so far: Generator packing up half way through welding.

205 wont fit under Saturn's front cycle wings, i had to use 195 50. 205 should fit the rear ok, but it would be easier if you had the same size all round if you want to move tyres around to even out the wear.

Mot wise its possible to have a difference in size on front and rear axle ie 205 rear 195 front but not a mix of either on one axle.

205 rear 195 front.

Hi David,

the front wings are 215mm wide and should, depending on type of tyre, fit the 205 you just need to be careful with the placement of the wing so that it covers either side of the tyre for IVA. Or just go for 205 rear and 195 front, may be a bit better for the balance and grip of the car although i dont think it would matter too much. You can get a full set of Toyo Proxes T1-r for £130 delivered so they are not too espensive for good grippy tyres.
