Default Steering linkage help needed ?

Hi Guys,

I'm using a sierra steering linkage and as per book I need to extend it. I am intending use the sleeve method. Anyway I have been on the lookout for a suitable sleeve for ages but cant seem to find anything, there is a serious lack of steel stockholders in my area (Blackwood South Wales) or at least I cant find any suitable.
Could any body point me in the correct direction of the size needed, somewhere I could get it or if someone has any I could purchase it off them ?

Thanks in advance Dan.

Hi Andy,

The coupling is off a sierra xr 4x4 and correctly mates to the escort rack and sierra column, the problem is that it isnt long enough.

Thanks for that Andy,

The outside diameter of the link is 25mm so 3mm sounds strong enough to me. If you have anything like that knocking about I would be extremely greatful.

I,ll double check in the morning & get back to you ( car not being built at home).

There are a few different threads discussing the extension & how other builders have done it, have a look using the search button ( top of page), there are too many to put all the links here,
It all depends on how you intend to join the rack to the original column just before it enters CP16 ( mines done like in the photo of the attached linked thread)

cheers
