Default Hi to all

Thought it was about time I signed up and said hello.

My name is Dave and some of you may have heard fellow builder Gus mention me before. I have had the pleasure of meeting Ash, Ginge, & Chris as Exeter last year.

I've been watching the forum ever since gus started his build back in 2008. As with most things the bug finally bit and I decided to build my own.

I have worked with Gus for 10 years at a local engineering works as a cad designer. You'll see from a pic he has posted in the chassis section that my chassis is coming along well, with a few little extras to make it a bit different.

Hope to learn a lot more from you all in the future, and hopfully contribute some useful info as well.

Here's the chassis so far for those who haven't seen it yet.

Cheers

Dave

Ooh I remember having a build table like that once, I was working in the prototype shop of a major manufacturing company at the time and I built the first off cab frame and chassis for the JCB fast tractor on it, good times!

All the best for your build Dave, looks like you're in good hands, D.

Hi Mate, another guy down south!

Your build looks great, I was only in Taunton a few hours ago! Probably drove past the workshop without even knowing! Hope to see you at the Exeter Show this year.

Thanks for all the comments. I must give credit to forum member Gus for the welding. I traded rebuilding his engine, and helping with his electrics, for him to build my chassis for me.

The table in the picture is one of 12 that we have where we work. That is only a baby one. The table the chassis was made on is 10m long x 2.5m wide. Overkill I know, but it was the only one free!!

This is the second chassis Gus has built using only a centreline & dimensions, and they are spot on.

I will finish off the drawings for the rollcage and post them up.

Cheers

Dave
