You dont need them off unless you are replacing the bearings

You can remove the driveshafts complete with brakes from the donor without undoing the hub nuts, to get the diff out.

If you then want to take the backplate off of the driveshaft for cleaning / painting you will need to undo the hub nut. It is easier to loosen it while the car still has it's wheels, and sat on the ground. If not a big vice and air gun will be necessary as they are VFT.

Passenger side if left hand thread.

The only reason to remove the hub nuts is if you are intending to renew the hub bearings.

To remove the driveshafts from the diff all you need do is undo the brake drum backing plate & the driveshaft carrier from the hub, then the driveshafts will pull away from the diff, or if you have bolt in shafts you then just undo the bolts at the diff end & the shaft is then free.

Ah

In that case I may have inadvertantly wasted several hours finding the right socket and buggering around!!! Damn!!!!!

I will now go and replace the drivers side one and get on with something that I actually need to do. I will worry about it when I want to replace the rear brake shoes instead!

I think if you have disk brakes then you have to undoo the nut as the lorobo joint comes out the back.
