Unhappy Bloody mega squirt

I'm a little out of my depth with it all now so here goes.....

I managed to get the engine to idle at around 1400 rpm with the idle air control setting to b&g on/off but have no throttle response whatsoever!

If I turn the idle air control on to pwm - warmup only it won't idle but I can get it to run on the throttle have changed the req fuel etc but I doesn't seem to make a difference I'm totally lost!

What circuit do you use to control the idle valve? Zetecs have a PWM valve that requires an extra transistor circuit to drive it. I had all the necessary components in the kit, from some other transistor relay key or something that was not needed in my setup. Sorry, I've soldered my MS and got it to idle in October, so I'm already fuzzy on the details.

I use the 'PWM closed-loop' algorithm, crank-to-run taper time 5, valve mode normal, output port FIDLE, 3 wire mode off, freq 306 Hz.

The help says Ford valves use 50-100 Hz, but these frequencies make the valve buzz quite loudly.

I had to bump the after start enrichments quite a bit to make it start reliably.

Thanks for that alga, you confirmed my suspicions my ecu is currently running the old standard fidle relay set up looks like I'll be ordering a pwm mod kit from diy autotune!

Whilst I'm there is it worth me upgrading to an ms2 daughter board?

I went for MS3 from the very beginning for built-in USB and SD card logging. If you're still on MS1, I suppose upgrading does make sense.

I saved the $100 on the MS3X extension card. With it I could easily wire sequential ignition with COPs, without it I had to source 2 IGBT coil drivers for Ford's wasted spark setup. Since there's just one BIP373 in the kit, and I didn't want to wait for another BIP373 from US, so I just found some IGBTs made specifically for the coil driver application on Farnell.

No need to buy the kit from across the pond, just get a TIP122 transistor, a dieode, a resistor and a mica insulator from your local radio components store, or Farnell/Element13.

I brought the ecu 8 years ago for a previous project but never used it

I order the bits and an ms2 daughter board from diyautotune now hopefully it'll all go smoothly and we'll have a nice running engine soon!
