Default Gaz Shocks group Buy..Interested?

Ok, well i've been speaking to Kitpartsdirect regarding some 13" eye to eye gaz with 350lb front and 250lb rear shocks with 1" top hats to extend to 14". I think the price would be £282 del with top hats, or if just 14" eye to eye shocks are fine it would be £250 del, which is quite a saving from the £380 people have been paying in the past.

Who would be interested in it??

To those with completed cars would you say that with 13" the ride height is definitely too low and 14" is needed. if so is there any problem in just using 14" shocks as opposed to 13 with top hats as no one seems to have ever suggested the idea?

Thanks

I think it is all to do with the active part of the shock

The 1" extensions were added to give an extra bit of ride height.
I do not believe that you would have the same effect by using a longer shock.

Perhaps someone who knows more about the science of it all can explain it a bit better

Here's food for thought .... If the shock mounts have not yet been fitted .... Perhaps it would be possible to extend the mounting brackets by .5 of an inch each !!??

If this was possible you could use the much cheaper standard 13" shock option

not sure i understand why that would be as under the same force they would both(13in and 14in) compress the same amount so there should be a 1in difference between them, expect when one is fully closed..... but im sure someone will come along soon and explain why im wrong

to be honest i dont know what yore yabbing on about. adrian and i both paid £310 each for our shocks and springs from dampertech.

i collected both pairs from stoneleigh last year so didnt have to pay postage. yes you may get them a few quid cheeper from gbs but trust me the knowledge and support from dave ainsworth at dampertech and mark at gaz is worth the extra. the over the phone knowledge and support dampertech can provide when it comes to setup is certainly something you wont get from gbs. thats not to say that gbs are a bad supplier, i just prefer to buy off someone that knows everything there is to know about the product they make/sell.
