Default Exhaust Question

What are the IVA regs in regaurds to exhaust positioning i.e. does the exhaust gases need to be vented towards the ground?

The reason i ask is because i recently obtained a ZX9R titanium silencer for the grand total of £10 , but the mounting bracket is designed so that the exhaust is located on the right hand side of the bike/car, but i have a CVH engine where the exhaust exists through the left hand side of the car. Obviously i can mount the silencer upside down, but that means that the exhaust will be venting at an angle upwards so i was wondering if this would lead to complications during IVA or any other unforeseen problems?

Also if anyone has any ideas to solve it other than getting chopping off the mounting bracket and putting a new one on (this is a last resort), then feel free to suggest them.

Simon

Titanium is a specialist job to weld but there is someone local who can do it.

Heres what the exhaust looks like.

My thought instead of getting the bracket cut off and welded back on, would be to say get 2 rings which would go over the exhaust, clamp on to it and then have a new clamp attached to them, if you get what i mean. (im a bit tired, so may not be making any sense at the moment )

Oops, forgot to attach the picture:

i would be surprised if the exit tube of the silencer is actually titanium, its usually just the outer sleeve of the silencer that is titanium, so if thats the case you can cut the angled part, re position it & re weld it as the Meerkat says "simple"

cheers
