Kev, Did you find a local company to make a new cable up for you. I was going to go to the newcastle VOSA as its just around the corner from me... but... I have had to shorten the front section of the mx5 cable to fit in with the Saturn plans. It looks like the ends etc are not standard. The only thing I can think about doing is buying another front section and having it swaged at the end to make it "look original". If there is a company who can make a new one this would be great.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.

I cut mine to length and drilled a section of bolt and crimped in a press and dab of mig on the end .

Yatch suppliers can crimp stainless cable to make you one if needs be, storrer marine in gateshead possibly ,south shore road.

IVA manual seems to be made up of MOT/Constrution and Use rules,only one cable adjuster is allowed for MOT so it makes sense that they fail more than one.

Section 3.5 RFR n would explain it.

Well now its time to tweak the the roadster into the post IVA car that I want and for a start that orrible sierra steering wheel has got to go......so off it came and the bandsaw fell on it loads of times until what I had left was the bare bones of the central boss.....this was duly hoyed into the lathe and turned down, then I grabbed a lump of ally that I also turned to fit the "new" boss then I needed some plastic spacers turning up so I could still use the central horn push on my new smaller snazzy steering wheel.

Thats great .
I bought an 11" wheel on ebay but cant find a boss with a hex fitting. I was toying with the idea of adapting the extg wheel. The angry grinder will be dusted off next week. Cheers

When I saw the first pic I thought you were making some sort of "tiller" for the steering . I remember seeing that wheel you had,thought you were loosing it Kev

I thought the original was getting top and bottom sliced out like the one on the knightrider car

Must be the excitement of passing iva, kev has gone all bling!
