OK!
Maybe Chris have more details to give. The discussion at locostbuilders.co.uk are dead. Is there any other single-seater that would be cheap to build? |

There is another book, "How to build motorcycle engined race cars" or something like that.
But, it is not a set of plans, it gives design info etc. but not a parts listing. As for cheap, well, they can cost what you like up to a point. Might be worth keeping an eye on Eblag for an old formula ford chassis or something You could always message Chris and ask, although he might not be able to divulge any information (Haynes probably saw what can go out) Sean

There have been a few delays, but the book should be out next year.
It's a steel spaceframe with GRP and aluminium bodywork. The prototype has a Honda Fireblade engine but the bay is designed to take most 4 cylinder motorcycle engines. The bay is physically large enough to take the Audi 4 and 5 cylinder engines/gearboxes (and possibly the V8) but I don't know if there'll be much detail for the car engines. The diff in the prototype is a Sierra unit modified to chain drive, I'm hoping to include modification details for the Ford escort/fiesta diff as well. The front and rear uprights are fabricated to take ford hubs. The GRP will be available from Triton and 3ge are going to produce chassis parts and plates. Cheers Chris |
