Default 3 wire fire on a 1.8CVH

Ok. So this is to prove that wiring a sierra engine loom is not a difficult job.

I took my 1.8 CVH and dumped it in the car last week. made up the engine mounts over the last week. and then strung the loom round and connected up the multiplugs to the sensors .

Then connected the main power feed and earth on the loom to the battery. It's difficult to do wrong!!!

It's then 3 wires to a fire.

1) on a post 90 loom find the black wire on the 6 pin multi plug ( I will reference the <90 if you like ) and put 12V from the battery to it.

2) put 12V from the battery to the +ve side of the coil ( which shoudl have the -ve connected to the loom)

3) touch the starter solenoid wire with a +12v feed from the battery

Takes me back to racing 1600 stockhatch on grasstrack. Thats why I love the CVH lump while the XR2I's where in the pits wondering why their ECU's and injectors where not running the XR2's where on the track battling the nova's. If you had a problem with the switches just rip it all out and hard wire it to the battery, and use side cutters to turn it off

I could probably do the same on any ford sierra engine, only difference on a injection one would be sending +12V and earth to the fuel pump.

Not a huge shock it ran but Glad it's is
