Default Anybody got tips on engine alignment ?

Been out at the car for a few mins today in between stinking hangover and building a bloody willy wonka chocolate factory !! long story....Anyways i am trying to get the engine in a decent position to make mounts...but ...i have it plum using a level across the cam housing (cover removed) and vertically plum using level on the block...is this the way to it or is there any pearls of wisdom somebody can tell me

The only thing that i aware of is the alignment of gearbox to diff and the affect of "BRINELING" . I think there was an article in CKC a while ago about it or maybe worth googling for a good explanation.
