may be the quality of metal used to make the R1 can, may be worth sliding one over the other and using some sort of discrete clamp and some exhaust paste to hold them together?

I think they made a special eddition R1 end can in titanium. What colour is your silencer?

Is it a normal carbon looking one, or is it a grey sort of colour?

EDIT. Also, I'd suggest clamping it on, so it's easily removable. Cut a few small slits in the end, slide it over the other half of exhaust, and get a nice neat clamp.

Best bit so far: Getting it running
Worst bit so far: Cutting steel for wishbones and engine mounts.
Most annoying bit so far: Generator packing up half way through welding.

I had to make a st/st slip joint to mount mine. mine was grey and these are also made from titainium the grey wrap is made of aluminium!
