Default Non sierra donors?

Probably a question which has been asked many times so i apologise now but what are the difficulties in using either mx5 or bmw's as donors. I ask this due to the seeming lack of sierra's around at the moment and the abundance of bmw's!! I know of several cheap mx5's as well so am considering either.

Any help gratefully accepted.

The MX5 would make a good donor critical dimensions aren't far off the Sierra, rear track is only 55mm narrower, the diff is a bit of a beast to fit as it comes with wide spaced pick up points cast in to it's housing, and a tourque arm arrangement the extends down the transmission tunnel, not impossible to over come, just a bit of re engineering.

For me the most suitable donor around.

Kind regards

John
