Default Bagged me a bargain

Was looking at alloys the other day in Halfords and saw some corkers reduced to £310 a set inc. tyres (budget tyres I know, but beggars can't be choosers)
Anyway, came home and was looking on ebay for some 2nd hand wheels when I came across a guy selling sets of brand new wheels exactly the same as the ones in Halfords. (funny seeing as they came from there)
Turns out the guy had had an insurance claim paid out to him in Halfords vouchers, so bought a load of sets of wheels to flog on and recoup some money.
Anyway, rang him up cos he was local, and managed to bag his last set for 200 quid.
Reckon they'll look mint on the roadster.
Here's the web page for them at halfords. What you can't see on the pic is the face of the alloy is polished with the back part an anthracite grey.

Last alloys I bought were £128 for 17" OZ super t's with almost new budgets..

nice thing was that I sold a set of Pug 205 wheels off the car for £129, so a quid up

Sounds like you did fairly well for a new set though.

TT

Theres a guy on ebay at the moment selling the exact same alloys but they're a year old with part worn tyres and they're at 150 quid and climbing now. I'm pleased with em because I was all ready to pay 310 for them from Halfords.

Good deal mate! hard to find new rims for that much cash.
While ago i managed to pick up a set of 2nd hand 18" BK299's in silver with Falken Ziex 912 W for £150 going to looka bit crazy on the Roadster heh but it matches the engine.

They look nice Alan, tyres dont look too bad either.

If anybodies buying stuff from Halfords, on certain products, you can save a lot with a trade card especially on their own brand stuff and car parts. When i got mine i just told them i had my own garage, was in my work gear and they didn't ask for any proof or id. Worth a try, their pro tools are pretty good with a lifetime guarantee and half price with a card. Outside brands aren't so reduced so i dont think you would have saved much, if any, Alan.

Well Done.....Andrew

Popped in and got a trade card yesterday.

I'm actually entitled to one as an aircraft engineer - lucky me.

Now if only I had a bit of cash to spend there....
