Talon...... hope you get sorted ok,

this thread is a good reminder to us all, we pick up these tools without giving it a second thought...............until its too late, i use a grinder almost every day, tho i do wear safety goggles & gloves even tho at times i think "ah its just a smidge of metal i,m removing, i,ll be ok" ,,,,,,,,,,

in a strange way , thanks for the reminder of the dangers we face.

get well soon Talon.

cheers
andy

And the worst thing you can do is plug it in without checking to see if it's on !

So I've learnt my lesson put an order into screw fix this afternoon for 5 full face shields, may be now I'll be able to find one in my workshop. As for pluging them in before cheaking that it's not already on all my gear has under handle triggers with finger gaurds due to arthuritus, I can't hold a cheap grinder any more it just hurts too much.
So back to work when I can see again, to the people I owe work to please add 5 days to to your delivery dates

All mine have & that is something I always check before being plugged in .... Also check the disc in case it has had a knock ....... I have a naughty habit of leaving the things laying all over the place

We did some power tool racing at a sheet metal shop I used to work at. Most if not all of the gear was trashed bearings, bushes gone etc. All was going well till one stray 125mm makita grinder strayed from our drag strip and hit the bosses BMW. You've never seen 20 blokes between 17 and 58 turn and clear away so fast! As usual the fork lift driver got the blame low pallets of steel being trundled about and all that.
