Default Wishbone bushes

I recently bought my wishbone bushes and as I began fitting them I found that some could be inserted with light finger pressure and can be rotated in the bush tube. I checked the bore size of the bush tube and it's to the book spec. Previous posting have talked about having to use a vice to "pursuade" the bushes into the tube. I suspect the ideal lies somewhere in the middle, I had been expecting an interferance fit so that the bushes "turn" around the crush tube. What's my solution? should I
* glue them in
* Leave them and they'll be alright
* Ask the supplier to exchange them

Where did you get them from Trif? the od of the bushes should be 29.0mm and the internal of the bush tube 28.5mm. You are correct the bushes should be a tight fit so that they turn around the crush tube and not spin inside the steel tube. Not sure about gluing them in though, maybe get the wishbones powder coated to reduce the id of the tubes. You may have to chamfer the edge of the poly bush slightly to push them in after, but this is fine.

If the bushes are not that a tight fit into the steel tube, you may still safe the day if the crush tubes are a very tight fit and needed to be pressed in with a vice. This will expand the OD (outside diameter) of the bush resulting in a tight fit.
Do not worry if it goes in that tight; since the crush tube is press fitted the "expansion" pressure will be equal throughout the bush resulting in the same pressure for crush tube to bush and bush to steel tube.
Since the crush tube OD area is much smaller than the bush OD area, the slip will be automatically be on the crush tube - IOW, the bush will slip on the crush tube.

Thanks for the replies. I think that the best solution will be getting replacements, if I've paid for them I may as well get the correct size.

Andy I don't want to say on open forum who the supplier was as I feel that it would be unfair to the company as I haven't yet discussed the problem with them.

Apologies Trif, didn't mean anything buy it. I only asked because i know that Rally Design do various poly pushes at slightly different sizes.

Sure it will be sorted no problem....Andrew
