Question alloy arms

Is there any problem with making the suspension arms in ally?

would be a lot of work for not much gain, you would have to research strengths and forces on different thicknesses of ally tube to find the right one, the weight difference would be minimal as the ally tube would probably need to be a fair amount thicker than the steel.

Think later MX5 uses alloy arms, so maybe worth looking into given Saturn's new forthcoming plans for MX5 version of roadster...?
