Default help !!!!

Ok I need help with this one please, this is from a mk2 mx5 and lived , on a bracket, beside the boost sensor.
I've googled it and have conflicting answers !!!!
so what is it, what does it do and do I really need it?
If its to do with the egr then where do the 2 pipes go to and if its part of the evap then I don't need it.
Just worried that it has electrical socket and trying to avoid it triggering any fault codes if omitted.
Thanks in advance Gary

If the egr works on vac thats what probably controlled it,vac in on one pipe and out on the other through the solenoid to valve.

Looks like the solenoid that controls the fuel evap cannister fuel thingy. Got rid of mine along with the evap stuff.

Cheers

It looks like the evaporative canister solenoid / valve. I cannot remember its name but it goes between the carbon canister and the inlet manifold. I tookine out.

The ecu will bring back an error code but that's ok.

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.
