Default Saturn Saturdays

Hi guys, just a quick message to say a huge thanks to Andy and Adam Hugill of Saturn Sportscars for a fine morning yesterday. We called in around 11.00 ish and after a cuppa and natter Andy took myself and then my wife out in his roadster, all I can say is its fantastic! Sticks to the road like crap on a blanket and pulls like a train. i was most impressed with the ride quality, I had expected it to be a bit jiggly and harsh, especially on rough surfaces but only the biggest of ruts got anywhere near being uncomfortable. SWMBO also came back with a big grin so I think she enjoyed it too.

We took Andy's advice for a campsite and made our way from Saturn around 2 pm via Shildon to Finchale Priory where we are presently encamped in our camper van, what a treasure this place is, down by the river and peaceful as you could wish for. Only downside is we only get poor signal on our mobiles, what a shame LOL! To make up for it its a gorgeous morning here, blue skies, sunshine, a very slight breeze to ruffle the trees.

thanks again Andy, Adam, (Handy)Andy and Anje (sp?). Plus the monkey burgers were fine too :-).

Best regards to all, D.

Duno If I met him when I was there,

The smiling wife syndrome seems to be common.

Cheers Davey,

Was nice to see you both and we enjoyed the day to - as always good to meet other builders. Glad you're enjoying Finchale Abbey it is a very nice location and right next to Durham. You will also enjoy Beachcomber Camp site at Goswick if you get up that far.

Adam is my brother TT, just moved back down from Edinburgh with Mrs in toe and is now part of the Saturn clan.

Thanks....AndyH

Hi guys, Finchale Priory was excellent, really peaceful. We've now moved up countrey to Berwick upon Tweed on the Caravan Club site. Site is pleasant with a nice view over the harbour entrance but If I'm honest BuT is not the most inspiring town I've visited this year or even this decade.

TT, yes we did go to the NRM at Shildon and it is very good, certainly an improvement over the Timothy Hackworth museum as it used to be, I was part of a small group that overhauled and ran Sans Pareil for the TH museum about ten years ago, sadly she wasn't there, in Germany apparently along with Rocket.

Don't know if I'll get back on here at all this week as we just ain't gettin very good signal on our mobiles (we use our mobiles as modems for mobile internet access).

We went there two weeks ago, not bad considering the entrance price.

Was chuffed to see Mallard as it's one of my faves... And the Gas Turbine APT was cool.

Not so impressed with the Cafe though especially as I don't carry cash and we only had about £9 to feed the two kids ( avoided the black bananas ) and us two..

We only had about an hour at Shildon, once I found out that Sans Pareil wasn't at home there was little else to capture my attention. Mallard is fantastic of course and as you say the gas turbine powered APT is quite interesting. Didn't even notice there was a cafe though, Mrs and dog sitting outside waiting for me so time limited.
