Default out with the old in with deathwish 3.

I swear this new CVH has it in for me.

Trying to get it out of the galaxy yesterday was an unusual struggle. Having shifted countless engines generaly without issue. 1 Strap ( supposedly 250KG ) that was only half supporting the engine snapped during lifting. Another bent it's lifting hook.

Anyway I got it out and onto the trolly, it tried to fall over due to the downpipe tipping it. So it almost ended up as a new ornamant for the side of my XR4x4...

downpipe off, and upright again it made it all the way into the garage.

Today, I removed the 2.9 V6 from the roadster. It was a bit of a struggle but was soon on the ground. Wheeled the CVH into place, and whilst attatching the ropes it fell off the trolley the other way!! emptied the carb of fuel and cracked the dizzy cap

It then took another 45 mins or so to get it sitting more or less in position in the car. I swear the 2.9 V6 was a better and easier fit!! I think the front to back length of the 2.9 is an advantage, and it's overall width not a disadvantage as the CVH Manifolds take up a lot of width. so the drawbacks of the 2.9 were it's wider bell housing and the height..

Oh well..

at least it's in

Damn what a pain. Its a shame you are not sticking with the 2.9 but needs must!
At least the damage was not too bad.

it's 10 years since I last worked on a 1.8 cvh...

My first ever engine swap was on one too back in 99.
