Smile Cheers Mark

Going to chill for a few weeks

Besides, I have a set of gates & some railings to make up for the front of our house, ahhh a nice bit of scroll work to do, that should get the creative juices flowing again

Ohhh & I keep getting grief over making a new Victorian lamp for the end of the drive .... The last one sort of had an accident involving a JCB when I dug out the inspection pit in the workshop

Methink's it's time for the new welder to show me what it's made of

Ronnie, Google "Rourkes" they make some wicked blacksmithy stuff for folk making gates etc cages, scrolls even edge hammered RHS to make gates look ancient. Not cheap but wow they are smart.
I made my parents a load of stuff years ago using their scrolls etc.

'Tis a good decision you've made Ronnie and I'm sure you won't regret it. When I joined this community you were the first to welcome me and I've taken a lot of inspiration from your good self. If we do go down the route of several of us trekkin' to Cornish land to fix it up then count me in if it can be done within my schedule (we have a very busy six months ahead), I can even bring my own accomodation .

Smile Thanks Davey

Thanks for the moral support & kind words Davey

I am sure i'll get there in the end, must learn to put a bit more trust in them 2 lads of mine .... It really is about time I taught Junior to weld, god knows, I have trained enough students over the years

Was in Hafrauds this afternoon and very nearly ordered a set of these

Quite taken by them & need all the comfort spending I can get

I was in the same position you are in last year, however no health problems just no time (& lazyness). I ended up with 2 options, sell up and lose money or continue buying. I'm glad I took the right option as I've really got back into my build over the last month or so.

Get your lads involved I'm sure they will love to help out especially as it means so much to you.

Hi Ronnie, only just seen this, I don't get much time here these days. I am glad you are carrying on, I hope my posting about giving up was not a catalyst in your own initial decision. I am still in 2 minds with mine, I still can't face the thought of IVA (or the cost, I could do a lot with a grand) but don't really want to give up without ever having properly driven the thing. It does look pretty but with many other things going on in my life it's just too much.
Anyway, I hope you go on to finish yours, I bet it will turn out as a very fine example, I wish you well with whatever you do.
Dave.

Ronnie is ok now
back on track good and proper he was just bashing the keyboard and gnashin his gums in frustration.
Some t##t had applied for planning permission to use his front garden to park arctic,s on.And build a f###-off great barn/unit outside his front door.
If you ever go to Ronnie,s you will see why he was in a tiz the afore mentioned T### only had to apply to build it 150 yards the other way and Ronnie would of probably done the steelwork for him...
well done for puttin up a good fight Ronnie
cheers les g
