Got to say that i build my own tank from mild steel 2 years ago to similar to the book dimemsions.
Painted in red oxided and hammerite and it looks just as good as it did the day it was fitted and was pretty cheap compared to buying an aluminum one. Thinking about it now, the only change i would consider would be larger. |

That looks quite nifty Phil.
Kinda thinking that the angle on the filler might assist when it comes to fitting the filling stations pump nozel in

Some sort of sump would be a good idea as in normal fuel tanks where the fuel sender sit's otherwise there may be feed problems even with baffles if the use of oe sender unit is intended.
Swirl pot is a totally different item seperate to tank and involves a low and high pressure pump to feed and return fuel.
