Default Headlamps - 7" or smaller?

Hi

I've been looking at headlamps and I'm not really a fan of the 7" after seeing them on some 7's at Stoneleigh. Does the IVA allow for smaller diameter lights (can't find anything in the manual about it ) ?? I'm looking at these 5 3/4" lamps - http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/complete-...ac4-1654-p.asp

Will they be OK?

cheers
Josh

They look to be WIPAC headlamps & according to CBS they are standard Caterham lights.

Should be fine for IVA

Good stuff

I'll be making my headlamp support brackets tomorrow then. How far out have people put their 'lamps from the chassis? ie how long shall I make my supports?!

I think I red somewhere that the headlamps must be no more than 400mm from the outer edge of the car??

Cheers

I agree with you Josh, 5 3/4" lights looks much more in proportion with the car and are fine for IVA. Yes they need to be within 400mm of the outer edge of the car.

I got cheapie 7's from bolt on bits, brief review on my website. My intention is to swap for something more pleasing after the IVA.

I may donate my lamps to the Club for IVA passing loans once i am over that hurdle.

Those lights from CBS are very nice but the price is a bit silly... I think I'll go with bolt on bits too TT - these... http://www.boltonbits.net/black-headlamps-p-73.html - still IVA OK?

Josh

PS. How are people feeding the wires into the car? I'm thinking I'll drill an outlet hole on the headlamp support and bring the wires into the car via a small grommet, to save weakening the chassis rail with a couple of holes?

Can't see them being an issue.
