This is the route I am heading down to.. using a mx5 gearbox.

I will be running in the 750 kit car series next sesson. I have emailed asking 750mc to check and I am fine to enter. Just need to apply... as far as I am aware no one is running a hayne roadster in this series and I hope to be the first.

Thanks all for the information and pointers,

Definitely the way i'm going to go, i've been in contact with a few companies and i'm looking around £1600 for a crate engine.

Some interesting links given and i particularly like the supercharged build.

If i decided to build a supercharged engine i think a used engine would surfice as this would need rebuilding and upgrading anyway. I think if i'm going with throttle bodies, engine management etc, a new unit is what i'm looking for.

Bear in mind using a duratec will require fuel injection, engine management and a cat which you'll only get from a donor vehicle like Mondeo. Create engines come without engine management or cat. etc
