Default Saturn Mx5 rear wishbone lengths

I'm just looking at doing the fish mouth templates for my rear wishbones and could do with a couple of missing dimensions.
Namely the overall / fixing hole lengths of the rear wishbones?
For the upper could i have the dimension from the inside face of the 25X25 box to the center fixing holes on the upright bracket. and for the lower could i have length between the 2 pieces of box section.
Also could i have the hole size for the upper wishbone upright bracket.

Much appreciated

Andy

Distance between two pieces of box on rear lower jig= 390mm
Distance between inside of box to centre of mounting hole on rear upper=205mm
Hole size for upper rear upright bracket=12.5mm

Hope this helps

Nathan

Hi there,
I believe the rear upright bracket needs to be 10mm as I made the mistake of drilling 12mm holes and then filling them up and re-drilling them , unless you want to drill out your bushes to 12mm. (which I believe can be a bugger) . Also (I know this because I measuered them today) the bottom upright holes on the MX5 are 14mm.. 12mm bolts will have too much play.

Regards Johno...

Thanks Nathan, thats a big help.

Johno, thanks for the hole sizes. they tie in with the 3d cad model of the uprights i found on the web. I wasn't sure how accurate the model was but it looks as though it is spot on. it also corresponds with the first post on this thread http://www.haynes.co.uk/forums/showt...light=uprights

It's the step file I downloaded. I can convert it to a dwg for you no problems.
Glad to help after your offer of the tank drawings.
I'll do all the views and send you the drawing. Just let me know your email.
I have some other parts too if you want them?,like the front spindles and ball joints, I got them from here http://locostcadfiles.wikispaces.com/
If there are any others you want I'll convert those too just let me know.
If you know of any other sources of 3d models I would be interested in seeing them. Im trying to model as much of the car on the computer so I have a better understanding of it to make the most of the limited time I can spend working on the real thing.

Cheers

Andy

Agreed with Johno on this one - the upper rear bolts are M10, and 12mm holes are too big.
I may have found a solution that doesn't involve reworking my wishbones, or drilling out my bushes though.
I've just ordered some polybushes for the rear uprights from Strongflex, and they've agreed to supply the crush tubes with a 12mm hole, rather than the standard 10mm
I was going to replace them at some point anyway as it seems wrong leaving them as 20 year old rubber when the rest of the car is polybushed!
