Talking Rude not too

This was given to me for disposal on Saturday morning



1997 Escort GTI .... 1.8 115ps silvertop ( Cracking engine )



Gotta be worth saving for a spare .... All I got to do now is work out if the later PATS ecu can be used & worth saving !!??

I expect that I will be able to shift quite a bit of stuff from that one Rob

On the face of it, not in bad nick but the Cornish tin rot has got to the underside

Good strong engine, pulls like a demon & is very quiet when running.

I'll get Junior to strip the good stuff from it, I can then tow the rest to the breakers on the ole A frame & bring the wheels back with me

I have never been one to turn away a free motor .... Room in the drive for a Metro if anyone has one they don't want

if its a proper gti it should be 130bhp shouldnt it?

That's what I thought Ash .... Just reading that from the sticker on the air box, not had a chance to cross refference the engine number as yet

Down on the V5 as a GTI & is fitted with all of the original GTI trimmings.

Got a sneaky feeling that it was only the sporty Escort Cabriolets that were fitted with the 130 bhp lump.

Pulls hell of a lot better than the 115 bhp lump that is currently fitted in my build

The standard GTi's only ever had the 115bhp zetec.
Nice car i wanted one once.

a lad i used to work with had one, i remember it being quicker than the normal 1800.
