Default TR1 Length???!!!

Hi all

I am currently tearing what is left of my hair out. I've got into 3d now and am at the point that I have cut tr1/2 @1472 with 10 degree paralell ends. I offered it up and it is totally wrong. I have triple checked all of my measurements and angles and they are fine but the top rail is about 20mm to short. Any ideas what is going wrong? All of the uprights U3, 4, 5 & 6 are all situated correctly and at 90 degrees to the bottom rails - which are flat on the table.....GRRRRRRR

1472mm with the 10degree cut is correct as you say,

so

have you taken into account that TR1 & TR2 meet the REAR face of the front frame?
If you do, then may I ask if your front frame has the 75mm "lean back angle" created when making the front frame?

If so,
then don,t forget that TR1 & TR2 sit on the forward leading edge of the uprights U3 & U4, I think its U3 & U4 (sorry, not got my book with me at home).

hope this helps

cheers
andy

Unfortunately all those points are already considered. The front frame is spot on as are all of the base measurements. I have TR1 18mm short. Hang on - I'll get some photos.

OMG that reply is without the book!

Andy, go to your local collage and see if you can do an NVQ in the Haynes Roadster Chassis, because you would not have to revise!

Pictures would be good, us meer mortals might have a chance

Cheers Ginge

The TR1 & TR2 rails are the easiest to remember as they are the longest single length tubes within the chassis

Maybe I do need to get out more

cheers

Aha! Well spotted - That sorted it - on closer examination FF1 wasn't sitting flat on the table - a bit of a wrnch to make the measurements as you describe and hey presto TR1 FITS!!!!!!!!
