Angry Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhh

2 years ago ish I removed the speedo/instrument panel from my sierra donor.
I attached the speedo cable to the speedo to keep it safe .Now I need to detach it to send it through the bulkhead----tried every way way to get it off----Hows it done please

Should be dead easy either prise the cable locking plastic bit over the locking ridge or give it a good squeeze either side of the locking peg to get it over the lcokig ridge... Never have a problem usualy..

Stupid thing is I got it off originally when I stripped the donor.
I just cant remember how I did it
