Default Clutch Cable Adjustment

Forum knowledge required!!

How tight do you adjust a clutch cable? Do you want the fork pulled up to the point that when released the release bearing is still in contact with the cover or not? Is it the case of pedal travel v's premature wear on the release bearing?
