Default Seamless tube suppliers Kent

I've been looking around for somewhere in/near Kent (Bromley) that could supply me with the seamless tube required to build the roll bar, and so far no luck!

Anyone got any suggestions? Would also need to find somewhere that could put the bends in the main hoop...

Cheers
Josh

Hi Josh

It might be worth sending AshG a PM, you never know, he may have one left over from one of the group buys

If not, he may be able to put you in touch with somewhere local that might be able to help

The second one is near Danbury Essex and is being sold by a forum member who uses the same name from here it's an AshG rollbar. If Dans going to be fitting a full cage at least it will mounted to some thing strong that chassis was'nt a light bugger to carry!

I've found a company up in Northants (Hauser Racing) that say they can bend me a roll hoop but the largest they can make it from is 1 3/4 diameter (about 44.5mm?) The book says use 50mm tube but will 1 3/4 be enough?

I've been down to a local engineering company (T Good & Sons in Croydon) to see what they make of the roll bar...

They can get the 50mm seamless tube in and bend it for me, but the only 2 wall thickness they can supply are 2mm and 5mm. I asked about seamed tube too but the only wall thickness they can get that in is 2mm, so no good really.

What should I go for? 2mm will obviously be a lot lighter but is it going to be strong enough? If not then I suppose I better go for the 5mm... Anybody whose using an AshG roll bar, what is your wall thickness please?!

Cheers
Josh

Hi Josh

If memory serves me right Ash's roll bars were 3.2mm thick

I expect if you do a search for one of " Roll bar group buy " threads, you'll probably be able to get the full spec's
