You said in your other post it was a 1990 car.

All 1988 and some early 89 cars onwards should have an internal pump with the exception of the cosworth.. I wonder why your doner had an incorrect pump and what it is actualy fitted with???

It's a Pinto.

I think if I remember correctly
(It's been a while since I looked at the logbook)
It was registered mid 1990.
The engine number relates to Jan 1990....

I know it's a Bosh pump, but dont know off hand the number.

Strange, the pinto was replaced in early 89.

Just double checked.

It's a G reg. Reg March 1990.
But the engine is a Jan 1989 serial number KJ.
So probably one of those cars left in Ford's carpark over in Tilbury
Seems you are probably dead right..Last of the Pintos

the pump should be mounted in its orignal aspect as on the orignal car idealy but as long as you mount it as low as possible to the hight of the pickup in the tank inlet to the bottom . inertnal pumps are mounted upright due to the pickup strainer siting on the bottom of the tank.
as for the cable i would run a single cable of simular size (2.5 mm would be fine) you dont want voltage or the eletric leaking out as smoke

when i build my chassis im thinking of running a length of copex down the trans tunnel to get all the cables in so its possible to draw a new cable in
